合志市英語チャレンジ大会

１０月２９日（土）に合志中学校体育館で「第４回合志市英語チャレンジ大会」が開かれました。合志市では、小中学生の英語への興味・関心を高め、世界に視野を広げて積極的にコミュニケーションが図れるよう英語教育にも力をいれています。市内小中学校１０校から５年生から中学３年生までの１２０名ほどの出場がありました。
最初は、合志市のALT（外国語指導助手）３名による楽しいオープニングアトラクションです。出場者を巻き込んで英会話で楽しい時間が流れました。
西南小からは、５年生１２名・６年生１１名が出場しました。
発表テーマは
'Back to Normal' Cheer up for Kumamoto!
「復興～熊本を元気に！～」です。

孫① Wow! Kumamoto Castle is awesome!
（わあ！熊本城ってすごい！）
孫② It's so big and beautiful!
（とても大きくてきれいだね）
孫③ It was built hundreds of years ago.
（何百年もずっとたっているだよね）
おばあちゃん It's true. Kumamoto Casle was collapsed from massive earthquake 70 years ago.（そうだよ。でもね、７０年前の大地震でくずれてしまったところがあったんだよ。）
孫 Really?（えー！）
おばあちゃん Shall we get on the time mashine and return to Kumamoto 70
years ago?（７０年前の熊本にいってみるかい？）
孫 Yes, Let's go!

order.（でも、見て。がんばって片付けている人たちがいるよ。）
孫① You are right!

おばあちゃん Time to go back,my dear.
（そろそろ もどらなくっちゃ）
孫① Kumamoto has been protected by so many people.
（たくさんの人が熊本を守ったんだね。）
孫② That's why Kumamoto reminds.
（だから今の熊本がるんだね。）
おばちゃん I love Kumamoto so much.This is where I belong.
（私は熊本が大好きだよ）
孫 Me,too!
（私も！）
There are so many nice places to go in Kumamoto. Let's take a trip to have a look.（熊本にはいいところがたくさんあります。熊本を旅行してみよう！）
Let's go to Mt.Aso first.
（まずは阿蘇へ行ってみよう）
Wow! It's surrounded by beautiful nature.
（わあ！自然がいぱい）
There are so many cattle.
（牛もたくさんいるね）
Soft cream is yummy, too.
（そふとくりーむおいしい）
Let's go to Amakusa next!
（次は天草に行ってみよう）
The ocean is so beautiful.
（海がきれい）
Look! A lot pf fish is swimming.
（魚もたくさん泳いでいるよ）
Our next stop is Tsujun-Kyo Bridge.
（次は通潤橋だ）
Kumamoto is proud of pure natural water.
（きれいな水も熊本のじまんだね）
You must not miss Kumamoto Castle.
（最後はやっぱり熊本城）
It was built more than 600 years ago.
（６００年もの長い歴史があるんだね）
We should sherish what we have now.
（これからもずっとずっと大切にしていきたいね。）
And let's pass on to the future.
